Writing retreat on the train
After a busy few months with work and university studies, I decided to take a trip to Halifax for a break to clear my mind to prepare for my next endeavour – I am writing a book! The topic? Minimalism of course! Riding the rails has always inspired me so I thought taking the train would be a great adventure. The ride is 27 hours from Toronto, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia and I knew it would provide focus for my work, with little internet access and physically no where to go, except for the long walk between my nest and the dome car, with dining and bar in between. When I arrived in Halifax, I stayed at one of the university dorms (they are reasonably priced and they are all within walking distance of libraries and restaurants.) Of course, I knew the vistas and people would be distracting so I made it a side project to create a photo journal.
